I was searching around for a novel composition and was looking at the base of these poles, which mark the end of the area upon which vehicles are allowed. As we had arrived for sunset, the sand on the beach was rather disturbed and many tyre tracks marked it. I was trying to think of how I could capture the wave motion amongst the rocks when suddenly amidst my squatting and upside-down-side-to-side head motions I came upon this composition.

It took a few tries to get just the right amount of water combined with just the right amount of darkness to convey a sense of brooding in this scene.

I just love it. I don't think I have any critique... maybe that the stick could be right in the middle of the orange part of the sun? But that would be too perfect, and the best pictures are the ones that aren't "happening" in the middle. So nothing to add
