Leopard
Adelaide Zoo South Australia Titled so because it looks to me as if he is staring out of his enclosure and longing for a freedom denied him. A sad fact that so many majestic animals can no longer live in their natural habitats due to human's extending destruction of the world. This one was captured as he paused for just a moment as something caught his attention outside his cage. We should support our local zoos and conservation parks as these are the last safe havens for our beautiful animals, in a world that is slowly using up all its natural resources. At last count, the human population was 6.8 billion - and it's still growing. I feel strongly about this; if you're interested, please read my blog post on this topic at [link] ----------------------------- 24 May 2009: OMG thank you SO MUCH for the DD!! My first one! Such wonderful detail and expression, perfect!" (Suggested by *gjoa and Featured by ^kkart) |

Is there some tread left on those tires, or is it just like throwing a hot dog down the hallway? Family Guy
As to your stand on zoos, I rather see a much greater effort directed at saving the natural habitats; sadly zoos are a first step in admitting defeat...
I also think you have a good point in that being unable to save the natural habitats we are trying to replicate them in zoos and such; I guess it can be viewed that we have admitted defeat in that sense. However, I also think that zoos and conservation parks play a massive role in the breeding and eventual release back into the wild of the world's species if successful.
Bit of a catch22 I guess.

To give the contra here
Have you seen strange behaviour and monotonic movements? It was scaring me how in one of the zoos i have visited some leopard was walking same ways over and over again. I just felt sorry to see something like that and not happy that we are keeping such animals alive cuz we are not letting/allowing them to live in natural ways.
Anyway to the pic:
really well done, I like the post work here that you focused only him itself (dark background etc.)
kind regards
PS: I do not want a discussing. I just felt to tell something
